All truck drivers arriving via Mutukula point of entry will be tested for COVID-19 and results given within 45 minutes. “If you are found positive, you cannot proceed with your journey..if you’re negative, you are released” Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng

Previously, kenyan truck drivers and transport companies protested a decision by the Ugandan government to stop them at entry points and make them hand over to Ugandan drivers.

The new move is expected to ease tension among truck drivers especially from neighboring Kenya and Tanzania.
