Millennials and GenX are ready to get all up in their emotions as the band gears up to entertain their Kenyan fans on 10 June.

According to Spotify Data, streams of the band’s music have shot up by 416% since the day of the announcement of their tour, with the crowd favourite being End of the Road. The average numbers of streams and searches are also enjoying an uptick of 191% and 124% respectively. This comes weeks after the announcement that the band would be making their maiden stop on Kenyan soil as part of their Africa tour.

Boyz II Men are a significant part of the boy band wave that took the world by storm in the 90s. They enjoyed popularity with other bands such as Backstreet Boys , New Kids on the Block , Blackstreet and New edition among others.

“Our Kenyan audience is really hungry for nostalgic music from the 90s. To say that the boy band era was huge back then would be an understatement. Nostalgia is a powerful tool for sustaining the love and loyalty of the fans so it’s a pleasure for us to support access to music that is well loved” says Monica Kemoli-Savanne- Artist & Label Partnerships Manager, East Africa
