In the early hours of Sunday 15th January 2023, the Rectory ( Fathers’ House) of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kafin Koro, Nigeria was fiercely attacked by bantis.
In the attack, Rev. Fr Isaac Achi was burned beyond recognition while his assistant Fr Colins Omeh sustained severe wounds.
“Unfortunately, the bandits reportedly attempted to gain entrance into the residence, which seemed difficult,” so they “set the house ablaze” and the Catholic priest burned to death”, said Wasiu Abiodun, the police spokesman.
Very Rev. Fr Isaac ACHI was a Senior Priest of the Catholic Diocese of Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. He was also Parish Priest of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kafin Koro in Niger State and the Dean of Kafin Koro Deanery.
