Nyandarua Governor Dr. Kiarie Badilisha has unveiled the 10 nominees to his cabinet and forwarded the names to the county assembly for vetting.

Five women are among those selected for the County Executive Committee (CEC), with the Governor saying it was “a delicate balancing act between the youth and the elderly”.

He said he shall forward to the County Assembly of Nyandarua names of persons nominated for vetting to serve as County Executive Committee Members by Tuesday next week in order to embark on his journey to honour his pre-election pledges.

Speaking at his Ol-Kalou office this afternoon, the governor observed that the persons nominated to serve the great people of Nyandarua are men and women of impeccable credentials and bear a record of service, service and dedication to public service.

He said they bring with them wealth of experience, networks and attributes which are critical in transforming our County.

Top on the list of nominated CECs includes former Kinangop Member of Parliament Stephen Kinyanjui alias KK who has been nominated to serve as CEC for Public Works, Roads, Transport Housing and Energy, while former County Secretary John Kanja Muchina was nominated to serve in the same position.

The women nominees are Mary Kamande to serve in the powerful Finance and Planning docket, Cecilia Wangari (Education Culture and Arts) Agnes Wamahiga (Tourism and Cooperatives Development) while 29 year old Catherine Njeri will now serve in the Youths docket if approved.

Others nominated are Paul Wanjau (public service) Francis Miringu (agriculture and livestock) Samuel Wachira (water and environment).

Governor Badilisha also nominated former County Assembly Clerk Purity Kamuruchi as a member of the County Public Service Board (CASPB) while Joseph Gathure will be the new county attorney if given a nod by the County Assembly.

He termed the team as an excellent team which will be delivered to the people of Nyandarua.

According to the government, the new CECs once vetted and approved will have to sign a performance contract.

“It is now time to work without wasting time. They will have to sign performance contracts so that they can deliver on the work they have been employed to do” he said.
