Farmers in Meru County have been empowered to boost food security through Safaricom’s newly launched integrated solution, dubbed ‘Bundle Ya Wakulima‘, which is available to farmers across the country.

The recently launched Bundle Ya Wakulima is designed to help farmers stay connected, protect their livelihoods, and improve productivity. The integrated solution combines connectivity, insurance, advisory services, and production support in one affordable bundle. The solution is currently available to all farmers across the country by dialing *544*16#.

Speaking at a farmer engagement and empowerment forum in Meru that brought together more than 500 farmers from the region, Safaricom’s Chief Consumer Business Officer, Fawzia Ali, said:

“Meru is one of Kenya’s agricultural powerhouses, and supporting farmers is critical to strengthening food security. Through PATA MORE Bundle Ya Wakulima brings together affordable connectivity, protection, and growth support, giving farmers the tools and services they need to increase productivity and build resilient livelihoods.”

The bundle is part of PATA MORE, Safaricom’s new customer value proposition that enables customers to enjoy additional benefits and greater value from the products and services they already use. Bundle Ya Wakulima brings together essential services in one affordable and convenient solution, providing farmers with support throughout the farming cycle.

It combines voice, data, SMS and WhatsApp access with insurance options, agricultural advisory services, discounted production support, including farm inputs and mechanisation with credit pathways for eligible farmers.

The farmers engagement forum in Meru marked the fifth regional event, following successful rollouts in Kirinyaga, Bomet, Nakuru, and Bungoma.

The bundle is built from farmer data and insights, appreciating the place and importance of voice-based communication, aligned with how farmers communicate and make decisions.

Bundle Ya Wakulima is available in flexible daily, weekly, monthly and longer-term options, allowing farmers to select the plan that best suit their needs and matching the agricultural season.

To access Bundle Ya Wakulima solution, famers can dial *544*16#
