Naiccon is organizing this year’s Nairobi Comic Convention – The most exciting pop-culture event in Africa – dubbed: Naiccon’s COM-eCON: Africa going Global, will be going online at www.comecon.africa.
This year the convention features panels and workshops in Comics, Film, Cosplay, Animation, Game development and Exhibitors from all of Africa. With Pro Series Gaming (PSG): PSG Siege Showdown (a Rainbow Six Siege tournament: Siege Showdown, with a prize pool of $1000) spanning multiple African Countries.
Naiccon’s COM-eCON 2020 is fast gaining interest and because of the connections to different comic, cosplay, film, animation and gaming communities, we are targeting to have countries from all over the world such as Nigeria, USA, Pakistan, and South Africa participate in the online convention.
Naiccon has grown to be the biggest East African gathering of pop culture fans since 2014. This year Naiccon will break new ground once again with the convention featuring the great writers such as Ron Marz, David Walker, Andy Lanning, Somto Ajuluchukwu and Alex Simmons; Film producers such as Jinna Mutune & Scott Tracy; esports teams such as Fnatic (UK), Anubis Gaming (Egypt) and Whiterabbit (South Africa) and, exhibitors from all over Africa.
Pro Series Gaming
Taking a leaf off NAICCON’s book, PSG (Pro Series Gaming), the leading esports brand in Kenya, held East Africa’s inaugural eSports tournament in December 2017. This featured Call of Duty WWII and brought together players from all lifestyles to battle it out for bragging rights.
In April 2018, NAICCON and PSG saw its second outstanding tournament, which featured Mortal Kombat XL and a prize pool of Ksh.1,000,000 Zambia’s Justin Banda walked away with a cool Ksh.500,000 and Kenya’s William Omondi coming in at a close second and winning Ksh.200,000 Last year’s Naiccon featured a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare tournament where the team Watchmen from Kenya, walked away with KSh.500,000.
With corporate support from the MoSound Group, French Embassy, Liquid Telecom Kenya, among others, Naiccon’s COM-eCON 2020 promises more action with bigger world-class engagements and is set to take place on 5th to the 8th of November 2020.
