Stanbic Bank has today publicly announced it will investigate the various issues that arose during the Stanbic Yetu Festival held on June 10, 2023, at Nairobi’s Uhuru Gardens.

The bank’s decision comes in response to widespread dissatisfaction expressed by a majority of the event attendees.

In an official statement released on Friday, Stanbic Bank acknowledged that certain crucial aspects of the show failed to meet expected standards, leading to disappointment among the music enthusiasts who had gathered for the concert.

“We have taken careful note of the constructive feedback and detailed observations shared by our loyal fans,” the statement read, emphasising the bank’s concern.

Consequently, Stanbic Bank has initiated discussions with the event organiser, Radio Africa Group, with the aim of identifying the underlying causes of the reported issues.

The main complaints raised by attendees included overcrowding, inadequate sound quality, malfunctioning screens that hindered visibility for some concertgoers, and insufficient infrastructure such as tents, food stands, and washrooms at the venue.

However, the bank expressed gratitude to the thousands of fans who attended the 2nd Edition of the Stanbic Yetu Festival and assured them of their commitment to improvement.

“We want to assure everyone that we are currently conducting a thorough investigation, and a comprehensive event report will be shared with our sponsors. This will help us in organizing future events and ensure that the experience of all attendees meets the highest standards we aim for,” the statement explained.

The bank reiterated that their initial intention was to provide Kenyans with an unforgettable and genuine live music experience by partnering with the event organiser, Radio Africa Group and Radio Africa Events.

“Our dedication to supporting the growth of the creative industry, fostering partnerships, and shaping a unique cultural identity through social interactions remains unwavering,” the statement concluded.
