Azimio la Umoja Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga has opened the Azimio Center Mombasa Branch to coordinate the coalition’s activities.
Raila has been on a four-day tour of the Coast region to popularize his Presidential bid and consolidate his support base.
Raila hit out at DP William Ruto accusing him of being a hypocrite after Ruto said he would take legal steps to reverse SGR and the port operation policies.
According to DP Ruto a few people have take the SGR hostage and are benefiting alone while the project is making losses and the Coast people aren’t benefiting.
In remarks directed to the DP, Raila told the Coast region residents, “Those deceiving you they will reverse President Uhuru’s port directives are the same ones who have harmed the coastal economy.”
Raila said he is the best person suited to succeed President Uhuru to continue with his development legacy.
He said the ODM party has delt with conflicts arising from the party primaries in the region and urged the residents to support its candidates in the elections in August.
Earlier in the morning in Mombasa, Raila had a breakfast meeting with Lamu leaders allied to the Azimio la Umoja Movement alongside Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, NARC Kenya party Leader Martha Karua and former MP Peter Kenneth.
He will wind up his visit with an extensive tour of Lamu County before jetting back to Nairobi ahead of a massive rally at Kamukunji grounds on Sunday 15th May where he will unveil his running mate.
