The stage is set for the swearing in ceremony of Meru Governor elect Kawira Mwangaza taking place at Kinoru Stadium at the heart of Meru County.
The event kicked off at 8:30AM with a procession featuring a music band from Gatimeni, through to Makutano and later to Kinoru Stadium.
Speaking to KBC Digital, the Assumption of Office Committee Chairman James Mutia said the event will be presided over by Judge Lady Justice Lucy M. Njuguna.
During the event doves will be released in the air to symbolise peace and togetherness of Meru leaders, those re-elected as well as the ones who did not clinch the seats.
Thereafter, the Njuri Njeke endorsement will take place after the swearing in ceremony that is expected to end at 2:00PM as stipulated by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Regulations.
Several dignitaries and members of the public have graced the occassion.
