Vincent Kiriago Mogambi is preying on widows and deceives them into signing away their wealth, a court in Eldoret notes.
In the judgement dated March 3, 2021, Judge Boaz. N. Olao warned widows living in Eldoret to avoid this man at all cost. This was during the judgement reading in the case of Jane* (Not her real name in respect of her privacy) who moved to court against Mogambi accusing him of registering her properties under his name.
“What widows need most at their time of distress is a helper who can shower them with love and offer support not deceitful and thieving men whose main goal is to strike at vulnerable widows,” the judgement reads.
The judge further quoted several Bible verses including Exodus 22:22-24 and Mark 12:40 which states: “They take advantage of widows and rob them of their homes, and then make a show of saying long prayers.”
The lady whose husband died told the court that she cohabited with the defendant who abused the trust she had in him. The man who moved from Webuye to Eldoret never appeared in court to defend the petition against him.
