It is that time of the year again. Apple is stepping onto the world stage today, Tuesday 9 September 2025, with its much-anticipated “Awe-Dropping” event. The showcase begins at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which means 8:00 p.m. in Kenya. For Apple fans across Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and beyond, tonight promises to be a night to remember.
You will be able to watch it live on Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, or even on YouTube. So, if you are settling in after work or preparing to catch the event with friends, here is what you should expect.
The iPhone 17 Family Takes Centre Stage
The biggest spotlight will shine on the iPhone 17 series. Apple is preparing four new models. The iPhone 17 comes with a ProMotion 120 Hz screen, a faster A19 chip and improved cameras. The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be the thinnest iPhone ever, just 5.5 mm thick, with a titanium aluminium body and a lightweight feel. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to carry much larger batteries and stronger designs, with the Pro Max possibly boasting over 5,000 mAh of power.
Pricing chatter suggests the base iPhone could start around 799 US dollars, with Pro models climbing past 1,099 US dollars.
New Life for the Apple Watch
Not to be outshined, the Apple Watch will also see fresh updates. The Apple Watch Series 11 could introduce blood-pressure tracking, smarter workouts and even sleep scoring. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is tipped to bring new 5G connectivity for adventurers and athletes. The Apple Watch SE 3 is shaping up as the affordable crowd favourite, with AI smarts in a slimmer package.
The Sound of the Future: AirPods Pro 3
Music lovers should look out for the third-generation AirPods Pro. Reports hint at better sound, stronger noise cancellation and perhaps even a version with gesture controls powered by tiny cameras.
A Fresh Coat of Software
Beyond devices, Apple is set to roll out iOS 26 with a brand-new design called Liquid Glass. Think of a softer, more fluid look that will ripple across iPhones, iPads, Macs and Watches.
Surprises in Store
Apple always keeps a card or two up its sleeve. Whispers suggest we might also see a new HomePod mini, AirTag 2, or even the first look at an M5-powered iPad Pro. A refreshed Apple TV 4K is also on the maybe list.
