Business Ireland Kenya Rebrands to Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties

Business Ireland Kenya (BIK) has rebranded as the Irish Chamber of Commerce Kenya as it seeks to strengthen trade, investment and business partnerships between Kenya and Ireland.

The rebranding comes as economic ties between the two countries continue to grow, with bilateral trade in goods and services reaching €574 million in 2024, according to figures from Ireland’s Central Statistics Office.

The new identity was unveiled during a reception hosted by Ireland’s Ambassador to Kenya, Caitríona Ingoldsby, and the Chamber’s Chairperson, Katherine Muldoon, at the Irish Residence in Nairobi on October 29.

Speaking during the launch, Muldoon said the new identity reflects the organisation’s commitment to connecting businesses and unlocking commercial opportunities in both markets.

“For nearly thirteen years we have connected Irish and Kenyan business, and this identity says plainly what we do. We help members understand what is happening on the other side, meet the right people and turn existing opportunities into trade and investment,” she said.

Established in December 2013 with support from the Embassy of Ireland, the organisation has grown into a network of Irish, Kenyan and international businesses and professionals.

The Chamber currently has 40 members, following membership growth of more than 30 per cent over the past year.

The rebranding introduces a new shamrock-inspired logo representing three strategic priorities: representation, insight and growth.

The Chamber said it will continue supporting businesses seeking opportunities in sectors including agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology and professional services.

The organisation also hopes to capitalise on the EU-Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement, which came into force in July 2024, to facilitate stronger commercial ties and market access between the two countries.

The Chamber has also launched a refreshed website, irishchamber.co.ke, to support business engagement and partnerships.
