He was a respected man, known for his unwavering faith and dedication to his congregation. However, according to news reports, there was a side to his life that remained hidden from the prying eyes of his parishioners—a secret romance that would ultimately lead to his untimely demise.

Yesterday, June 8, Fr. Joseph Kariuki checked into the Monalisa Hotel in Murang’a, accompanied by a woman whose identity remained a mystery.

Ruth Nduhi

The hotel staff had only known her as Ruth Nduhi, a 32-year-old woman who seemed to share a close bond with the priest. Some whispered that she was not only his lover but also a fellow colleague, shrouded in a clandestine relationship that defied their respective callings.

Throughout the night, the couple occupied a room within the hotel’s confines, their secrets shielded by the walls. What transpired between them during those hours remained a puzzle, known only to the two lovers. It was on the following morning, as the sun began to cast its golden glow upon the world, that the enigma deepened.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Kariuki, a man of faith and resilience, suddenly fell victim to a bout of mysterious health complications. His body weakened, his consciousness slipping away, he became a mere vessel adrift on the sea of uncertainty. In his desperate state, his lover, Ruth Nduhi, turned to the hotel staff, seeking their aid. The once tranquil atmosphere of the hotel now buzzed with alarm and confusion.

The hotel management promptly contacted the authorities, hoping that they could save the life of the esteemed priest. But fate had already intervened, leaving behind a lifeless body upon their arrival. Rev. Fr. Joseph Kariuki had succumbed to the inexplicable, leaving the investigators with more questions than answers.

Police case

As the police began their investigation, the lady at the heart of this enigma remained a specter in the shadows. Her role in Fr. Joseph’s life, her connection to the events that unfolded within the walls of Monalisa Hotel, was a riddle waiting to be unraveled. Who was she, really? What secrets did she hold? And most importantly, how did her presence tie into the tragic demise of the devoted Catholic priest?

The body of Rev. Fr. Joseph Kariuki was transported to Mater Hospital Mortuary, where it would be meticulously examined in search of the truth. The investigators embarked on their quest, determined to shed light on the mystery surrounding his death. As they delved deeper into the labyrinth of secrets, they would soon discover the hidden layers of Fr. Joseph’s life and the enigmatic lady who played an intricate part in his untimely end.

No word from Archdiocese of Nairobi

The small town of Ruai, once a haven of tranquility, is now consumed by speculation and whispers of the unknown.

The Catholic Church in Nairobi is yet to release a statement on the matter.
