High Court of Kenya has upheld Majid Al Futtaim’s supplier agreements in a recent ruling, affirming the company’s right to fair administration and overturning a previous decision that mandated changes to these agreements.

The ruling, which upheld Majid Al Futtaim’s right to fair administration, overturned a previous mandate requiring amendments to these agreements.

Majid Al Futtaim expressed gratitude to the High Court for recognising the integrity and fairness of its existing supplier agreements. The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a business environment that is sustainable, equitable, and mutually beneficial for all stakeholders. This commitment aligns with Kenya’s Code of Retail, a framework to which Carrefour has contributed significantly since its inception.

Since commencing its retail operations in Kenya in 2016, Carrefour has prioritised high standards of global best practice and has consistently implemented standardised commercial terms with local partners. This approach aims to foster the mutual success of the Carrefour brand and its suppliers, partners, and stakeholders. Additionally, Carrefour remains dedicated to providing Kenyan customers with exceptional value and affordable prices.

Carrefour’s adherence to these principles has cemented its reputation for fairness and integrity in the Kenyan market. The company continues to strive for excellence, working collaboratively with partners to support the local economy and uphold the highest standards of retail practice.
