KFC is set to introduce its Kentucky Town experience in Kenya on October 20, 2026, featuring a locally inspired menu, a fashion collaboration with Kenyan brand home_254 and a series of entertainment events across Nairobi.
Dubbed Kentucky Town 254, the initiative marks the first East African rollout of the fast-food chain’s limited-time festival, which originated in South Africa and has previously been held in Namibia and Mauritius.
The experience will run from October 20 to November 15, bringing together food, fashion, music and interactive activities at selected KFC restaurants and four shopping malls in Nairobi.
Among the highlights is a new menu inspired by Kenyan flavours, featuring The Colonel’s Mandazi Burger, The Colonel’s Mandazi Pops, Kentucky Choma Burger, Samosa Crunch and Catch These Masala Fries.
Customers will also be able to try two new beverages, the Birthday Cake Krusher and One in a Melon Krusher.
Dorothy Muthoni, Chief Marketing Officer at Kuku Foods East Africa, KFC’s franchisee in Kenya, said the company wanted to create an experience that reflects local tastes and culture rather than simply replicate the concept used in other markets.
“We didn’t want to bring Kentucky Town to Kenya and simply put a Kenyan name on it. We wanted Kenya to have a say in what Kentucky Town becomes,” Muthoni said.
“That means food that tastes familiar, fashion that feels like us, and an experience that gives people a reason to come together.”
KFC Kentucky Town Pop-Up Locations and Dates
Beyond the restaurants, KFC will host four weekend pop-up events across Nairobi, where customers can enjoy music, games, fashion and other interactive experiences.
The events are scheduled as follows:
- October 23–25: The Junction Mall, ground-floor courtyard
- October 30–November 1: Galleria Shopping Mall, parking area next to KFC
- November 6–8: The Hub Karen, The Piazza
- November 13–15: Garden City Mall, main entrance
Customers who purchase a Kentucky Town meal at participating KFC outlets will be able to use their receipts to access any of the pop-up events.
The first 100 visitors at the opening pop-up on October 23 will receive a complimentary Samosa Crunch.
Activities will include the Wrap the Beat dance challenge, virtual reality gaming, a basketball challenge, photo booths and live caricature drawings.
KFC Partners with Kenyan Fashion Brand home_254
As part of the campaign, KFC has partnered with Nairobi-based fashion house home_254 to create an exclusive limited-edition apparel collection celebrating Kenyan creativity.
The collection will feature T-shirts, crop tops, varsity jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jorts, shrugs and puffer jackets.
Visitors to the pop-ups will have an opportunity to explore the merchandise through dedicated fashion displays, styling corners and photo spots.
According to home_254 founder Job Brian Jura, the collaboration is designed to showcase Kenyan fashion and local production.
“Everything is designed and made in Kenya and hand-printed locally, so a Kentucky Town piece carries a little bit of home long after the campaign ends,” Jura said.
The campaign will also feature Kenyan content creators and influencers, including Kendi Q, Comedian Mwirigi and Wangari Kairu, who will promote the food, fashion and entertainment experiences.
Kenya Becomes First East African Market for Kentucky Town
The launch comes as Kenya remains one of KFC’s most important markets on the continent.
With 48 franchise-owned restaurants, Kenya is KFC’s second-largest African market after South Africa.
KFC Africa Chief Marketing Officer Hloni Mohope said Kentucky Town is designed to attract new audiences by combining the brand’s food offering with entertainment and cultural experiences.
“Kentucky Town is all about introducing KFC to new audiences with entertainment, fun, exclusive experiences and merch, and a menu that takes the Original Recipe to new and exciting places,” Mohope said.
The Kenyan edition will conclude on November 15, following the final weekend pop-up at Garden City Mall.
