The KIEP-SKIES four-month course, now in progress, aims to enhance employability of Kenya youth by impacting them with high-in-demand IT skills(data Science, cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship).
In an interview, Mr Allo said the program had opened his knowledge on the IT sector and the various specialised jobs available in the market enabling him to select one that he had a passion in.

“I discovered a deep passion for data analysis, mastering Python to analyse raw data and create insightful graphs. This skill set allows me to transform complex data sets into meaningful visualisations and actionable insights,”he said while learning basics on Cyber Security gave him a clear picture on development of robust delegation policies for individual entities and conduction of forensic analysis to retrieve deleted data.

These skills are crucial for safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring data integrity in any organisation in the course of conducting its day to day businesses.
Mr Allo said he also received hands-on training on Software Engineering which exposed him to a new realm of programming where he has become proficient in C++, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This has given him confidence in creating basic websites and laid the foundation for more advanced projects in the future.
As the world delves deeper into mobile telephony, says Allo, the Rapid Training Skills Development course gave him useful hindsights on Mobile Application Development that are key to developing mobile solutions.

“The program provided me with a broad overview of the IT space, essential for a beginner. I gained a clear understanding of various IT domains, allowing me to identify where I best fit and how to position myself for success. Being trained on Skill Monitoring and Portfolio Development not only enhances my employability but also demonstrates my commitment to continuous learning and development,”he observes.
