CFAO Mobility Kenya has formally taken over the assets, operations, and clientele of DT Dobie, marking the end of one of Kenya’s most recognisable automotive names. The transition follows an internal restructuring within the CFAO Group that took effect on 1 April 2023.

Until 31 March 2023, the CFAO Group operated three entities in the country, namely CFAO Mobility Kenya, DT Dobie, and LOXEA Kenya. In a bid to streamline operations and strengthen its market presence, DT Dobie & Company Kenya Ltd officially transferred its business assets to CFAO Mobility Kenya.

The consolidation brought together the heritage and expertise of two respected automotive players, creating a stronger, unified entity. Through the acquisition, CFAO Mobility Kenya expanded its portfolio to include globally renowned brands previously sold and serviced under the DT Dobie banner.

Today, CFAO Mobility Kenya stands as the official distributor of 12 international automotive brands, offering more than 21 vehicle models. The company runs an extensive nationwide network of over 40 service centres, authorised dealers, and company-owned branches, ensuring broad coverage and support for its customers.

As part of the legal winding-down process, DT Dobie & Company Kenya Ltd has appointed a liquidator to oversee the company’s closure. For customers, however, the shift is designed to be seamless. CFAO Mobility Kenya has assured continuity of service, wider choice, and improved convenience under its strengthened mobility solutions offering.

With this move, CFAO Mobility Kenya consolidates its position as a leading automotive distributor in Kenya, carrying forward the legacy of DT Dobie under one trusted name.
