Chery’s arrival in Kenya underscores Caetano Kenya’s commitment to delivering world-class mobility solutions that meet the evolving needs of today’s discerning customers. The introduction of Chery brings to the Kenyan market a brand that combines intelligent engineering, contemporary design, and advanced safety — all at a value point that redefines the traditional boundaries of luxury cars. Chery offers Kenyan customers the confidence of world-class standards, strengthened by Caetano’s proven local expertise and dedication to service excellence.

“Today marks an exciting new chapter for mobility in Kenya. Our partnership with Chery goes beyond introducing a globally successful automotive brand to our market — it represents a bold commitment to Kenya’s industrial future. In 2026, we will begin local assembly (CKD) of Chery vehicles right here in Kenya. This initiative is designed to create jobs, enable transfer of skills, accelerate industrial growth, and generate greater local value. Built in Kenya, for Kenya — this is not just our strategy, it is our promise.” said Aurélien Glay, Managing Director of Caetano Kenya.

Chery launch line up has a model for every lifestyle – the Tiggo 8 Pro Max is the flagship SUV, a 7-seater SUV for executives and families, featuring a powerful 2.0L TGDI engine, luxurious interior, and advanced driver assistance systems. The Tiggo 7 Pro, a stylish 5-seater SUV balancing performance and elegance, with intelligent drive features and a panoramic sunroof which is ideal for professionals and young families and the Tiggo 4 Pro, is a compact, urban SUV built for dynamic city lifestyle, offering smart connectivity, efficiency, and a premium experience at an entry-level price point.

In each Chery model, technology meets comfort and safety, as it comes equipped with advanced technologies such as intelligent voice control, 360° cameras, HD infotainment displays, and ADAS safety features. Comfort and refinement are ensured through leather interiors, dual-zone climate control, and premium sound systems, complemented by turbocharged engines delivering both power and efficiency.

The pricing strategy will be highly competitive in the SUV segment, designed to make premium SUV ownership more attainable. The price will start from Ksh 3.9 million going up. All models are backed by a 7-year / 200,000 km warranty, one of the most comprehensive in the market; supported by Caetano Kenya’s extensive after-sales network, trained technicians, genuine parts availability and a dedicated customer service support.

Chery is truly a proven global brand with a presence in over 80 countries and 13 million customers worldwide. It is China’s leading passenger vehicle exporter for 21 consecutive years. Its global reputation for innovation and reliability is set to inspire confidence among Kenyan consumers.

The launch of Chery expands Caetano Kenya’s growing portfolio and strengthens its position as a true multi-brand mobility leader; it also brings new energy to the SUV segment — one of the fastest-growing in the market.

Caetano Kenya aims to sell 200–400 units in the first 12 months; a realistic yet ambitious target that reflects both the strength of the Chery lineup and the growing appetite for modern SUVs in Kenya.
