Paint manufacturer Crown Paints, over the weekend, hosted over 60 top-performing Team Kubwa painters on a three-day experiential trip to the Maasai Mara under its Twende Mara na Crown Paints initiative.

The painters, drawn from Nairobi, Meru, Kisumu, Kisii, and other regions across the country, traded their daily worksites for the iconic landscapes of the Maasai Mara in recognition of their loyalty and contribution to the brand’s growth.

The journey, which commenced from the company’s premises along Likoni road, was flagged off by Group Vice Chairman Hussein Ramji alongside Group Chief Executive Officer Mustafa Turra, reaffirming the company’s commitment to building and maintaining its relationship with the painter community.

The programme combined leisure, learning, and engagement, where participants experienced a scenic drive through the Rift Valley, cultural interactions including maasai dance sessions, and a game drive within the national reserve.

A key highlight of the trip was a dedicated painters’ forum featuring product demonstrations on Crown Plast Waterproof Skimcoat and Rainprotek. The session also provided a platform for practical feedback, peer exchange, and direct engagement with the Crown Paints team.

Evenings were marked by a Maasai-style bonfire networking session that brought together culture, storytelling, and interaction among participants.

The journey concluded with a visit to a traditional maasai homestead, where painters gained insights into local building techniques and interacted with the community, including maasai women builders.

“This is the first time I’ve visited the Mara. Crown Paints has really shown us that they value our work and our partnership. It motivates me to keep growing with the brand,” said Thomas Odhiambo, a painter.

Speaking while flagging off the initiative, Group Chief Executive Officer Mustafa Turra said the company will continue to invest in programmes that recognise and support painters as key partners in its growth strategy.

“These initiatives reflect our commitment to transforming lives across our value chain. We are proud to support our painters by equipping them with skills and opportunities that improve their livelihoods,” he said.

The initiative underscores Crown Paints’ continued commitment to building a strong, empowered, and loyal painter community across the region.
