As the holy month of Ramadan continues, Muslims in Nairobi searching for welcoming places to break their fast now have a new option in the city’s Westlands district. Dusit Princess Hotel Residences Nairobi has unveiled a thoughtfully curated Ramadan Iftar buffet designed to bring together tradition, community and refined dining.

Hosted at the hotel’s signature dining space, The Olive Restaurant at Dusit Princess Nairobi, the Iftar experience blends Swahili culinary heritage with classic Middle Eastern flavours — creating a diverse buffet that reflects the cultural richness of Ramadan dining.

A Meaningful Iftar Experience in Westlands

Ramadan remains one of the most significant periods on the Islamic calendar, marked by prayer, reflection, charity and the daily breaking of the fast at sunset. Recognising Nairobi’s vibrant Muslim community, Dusit Princess Nairobi has introduced its first dedicated Iftar offering, providing a serene and welcoming space for families, friends and colleagues to gather after a day of fasting.

The buffet features a rich spread of dishes traditionally associated with Iftar. Guests can expect slow-cooked meats, fragrant rice dishes, traditional mezze, Swahili specialties and Middle Eastern classics. The menu is complemented by fresh juices, dates to break the fast, and handcrafted desserts that round off the evening meal.

The setting is designed to encourage connection and togetherness — a key part of the Ramadan spirit — making it suitable for family gatherings, group dining and corporate Iftar meetings in Westlands.

“Our objective was to create a meaningful and authentic Iftar experience that honours tradition while reflecting the refined hospitality our guests expect,” said Lionel Formento, General Manager of the hotel. “This offering is both a celebration of Ramadan and an invitation for guests to discover our dining experience.”

Growing Demand for Iftar Venues in Nairobi

With Nairobi’s restaurant scene expanding, Westlands has increasingly become a hub for lifestyle dining and group experiences. Hotels and restaurants are now creating specialised Ramadan menus to meet the growing demand for quality Iftar options across the city.

Dusit Princess Nairobi believes its offering will appeal not only to Muslim families but also to corporate groups and visitors looking for a comfortable setting to host Ramadan gatherings.

“Iftar is a time of unity and gratitude,” Formento added. “We hope this becomes a cherished annual tradition and a meaningful touchpoint for the community — during Ramadan and beyond.”
