Today, as Valentine’s Day is celebrated worldwide, Emirates SkyCargo is supporting Kenya’s export community by ensuring time sensitive shipments, from fresh cut flowers to premium gifts, reach global markets quickly and in optimal condition.

Kenya remains one of the world’s largest exporters of fresh cut flowers, with significant volumes flown to international markets, especially across Europe. Beyond flowers, exporters ship avocados, vegetables, tea, and coffee, all of which depend on reliable air cargo to maintain quality and meet strict delivery schedules.

Emirates operates two daily passenger services from Nairobi, set to increase to three daily flights from 1 March, alongside three dedicated weekly freighter services offering a combined capacity of 1,100 tonnes each week. The freighters fly directly to Amsterdam, enabling rapid access to key European markets.

Temperature controlled handling, fast transfer times, and dedicated cargo facilities help preserve freshness during transit, particularly during high demand periods such as Valentine’s Day. This capacity supports Kenyan growers, cooperatives, and exporters, including small and medium sized enterprises, to fulfil large international orders and sustain jobs across the value chain.

While today highlights the scale of flower exports, dependable year round connectivity continues to drive Kenya’s wider export trade and rising global demand for its products.
