Finnet Trust Services Limited (FTS) has been formally registered as a Corporate Trustee by the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), Kenya’s regulator of the retirement benefits industry.

The registration was granted on 20 August 2026, with effect from 21 August 2026, pursuant to the Retirement Benefits Act and the Retirement Benefits (Corporate Trustees) Regulations. In confirmation, the Authority has issued Finnet Trust Services Limited with a Certificate of Registration as a Corporate Trustee under Certificate No. RBA/1/16/010 (Registration No. CT010; Form II, Serial No. 019).

The registration marks an important institutional milestone. It formalises FTS’s capacity to serve umbrella schemes, individual pension plans, income drawdown funds and occupational schemes as a licensed corporate trustee, and it reinforces the company’s position within Kenya’s retirement benefits sector.

The registration provides independent regulatory validation of the governance, capital, systems and fiduciary arrangements that Finnet Trust Services Limited has built since inception. It confirms that the company has met the standards required to operate as an RBA-registered Corporate Trustee in Kenya.

For our customers, schemes and partners, the milestone offers an additional layer of confidence: FTS operates within a regulated framework designed to uphold governance discipline, accountability and the responsible stewardship of retirement benefits.

“This registration is an important endorsement of the standards we have worked to establish since inception. Our commitment to strong governance, accountability and responsible fiduciary stewardship has always been at the heart of our business.

The RBA registration formally validates that foundation. It is validation, not transformation — our standards did not change on 20 August; they are now endorsed by Kenya’s pensions regulator, which strengthens the confidence our customers and partners can place in us,” said Godwin Kibet Simba, Chief Executive Officer, Finnet Trust Services Limited.

While the registration represents a significant achievement, the standards by which Finnet Trust Services Limited operates remain unchanged. The registration is a formal regulatory endorsement of the governance and fiduciary framework the company has built since inception.

FTS will continue to focus on delivering professional, transparent and responsible trustee services, while upholding the standards expected of an RBA-registered Corporate Trustee.

Finnet Trust Services Limited operates within the Finnet Nexus Group — an integrated East African pension, governance and wealth-management group whose subsidiaries include the Finnet Institute, Finnet Insurance Agency, Finnet Capital, Finnet Technologies, the Executive School of Governance & Management (ESGM) and the Finnet Foundation.

The Group operates behind a strict Trust-Capital Wall, protecting trustee independence from any capital or investment activity elsewhere in the Group. Members and beneficiaries remain the ultimate purpose of every trustee decision.

As an RBA-registered Corporate Trustee, Finnet Trust Services Limited will continue to meet its obligations to the Authority. These include the submission of annual audited financial statements, the maintenance of an up-to-date register of directors and top management, the reporting of changes in shareholding, directorship or top management within thirty (30) days of such changes, and the timely payment of prescribed regulatory fees — all in accordance with the timelines set by the Authority.

These obligations are overseen by the Company Secretary and the Head of Legal & Compliance, and tracked through the Group Compliance Calendar.

The registration represents a further step in Finnet Trust Services Limited’s commitment to strengthening trust, governance and accountability within Kenya’s retirement benefits industry. The company remains committed to serving customers, retirement benefit schemes and partners with the professionalism, integrity and fiduciary responsibility expected of an RBA-regulated Corporate Trustee.
