Hayo, a global innovator in digital solutions, has expanded its presence across East Africa by launching voice, messaging and digital solutions in Rwanda. Local service providers, enterprises and government entities will benefit from access to a portfolio of services designed to support digital and economic growth. Customers can seamlessly roll out National Mobile Registry (NMR), IoT and eSIM platforms, as well as messaging services and international voice.

As part of the launch, Hayo will be onboarding local talent and working in collaboration with local service providers and businesses. Hayo already operates in over 30 countries, serving 100+ leading mobile operators and a global ecosystem of 500+ partners. Its move into Rwanda builds on continued business expansion across Africa, including Senegal in Q1 2026, as well as Botswana, Liberia and Malawi in 2025.

“Rwanda has rapidly emerged as a leader for tech innovation in the region, and we see massive potential to support the growth of its digital economy with the right technology and expertise,” said Feraz Ahmed, CEO at Hayo. “Expanding our operations in Rwanda allows us to work hand-in-hand with businesses at a local level. We will be on-the-ground to deliver innovative digital solutions that businesses can trust to help them succeed. We aren’t just launching new services. We’re committed to supporting Rwanda’s long-term growth by combining innovative digital solutions with local expertise.”

The number of Internet users in Rwanda has more than tripled over the last decade, with 34.2% of the population regularly using the Internet in 2023 compared to only 8% in 2012, according to the WTO and World Bank. Hayo aims to accelerate the country’s adoption of digital services with tailored industry-specific solutions across mobile, GovTech, IoT, cloud, and more. Hayo combines networking, technologies and digital solutions to have a positive impact on local businesses and communities, with more than three decades of experience across Africa.

“We’re seeing incredible growth in the demand for digital services in Rwanda, following the wider trend of increased digital adoption across Africa. In expanding our local Rwandan operations, we’re working to unite the digital communications ecosystem across the continent,” said Boaz Yaya, Director of Operator Relations at Hayo. “We are here to listen, adapt and deploy solutions that align with Rwanda’s vision for a connected future. This proximity allows us to better understand local challenges and deliver the specific digital tools the market needs to thrive.”

The news comes after the recent launch of Hayo’s eSIM platform, which offers white-label capabilities for MNOs to increase roaming revenue, enable the rapid delivery of services and enhance operational efficiency, while providing a seamless customer experience. The provider also enhanced its National Mobile Registry (NMR) platform in Q1 2026, adding fraud and mobile theft protection to its existing list of capabilities designed to help governments regulate imports, protect citizens and increase public revenue.
