Launched in June 2021, the MPESA Super App has quickly gained popularity, surpassing three million users, up from 1.2 million in April 2023. The app was introduced to provide customers and M-PESA for Business App users with front-end insights on spending, direct access to statements, and other features. Some of its notable functionalities include “Offline Mode” and “Mini Apps.”

In the latest financial year until April 2023, the MPESA Super App processed a remarkable 489 million transactions with a total value of KSh. 1.3 trillion.

The current downtime is impacting all MPESA services within the app, and it is also affecting other service providers who rely on MPESA.

Ordinary users still able to use the SIM Toolkit.
