No matter how much progress you’ve made toward your goals this year, now is the perfect time to reflect and reset. Notice what is working and what is not, rethink your priorities and make the changes that will set you up for a strong end of year.
A reset like this can feel overwhelming, but you can lean on the Word of God for support no matter what your goals are. Whether on your own or with a group of fellow believers, let Scripture guide you for the months ahead.
Here are five ways the Bible can help anchor you throughout the rest of 2026:
- Spend Time in God’s Word
If you start to feel anxious or lose focus, turn to Scriptures like Philippians 4:6-7. It says: ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’ At the same time, Joshua 1:8 encourages us to ‘…meditate on it [Scripture] day and night…‘.
Scripture can offer comfort and reassurance, and we can look to it for guidance that can reshape and reset our mindset. Progress starts with perspective. Indeed, God invites us to spend time in His Word and to let what you read take root in your heart. In Colossians 3:16, we are invited to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly“.
There are many digital resources available that offer guided devotionals, reading plans, and helpful reminders to make it easier to stay consistent and allow God’s Word to encourage and refresh you daily.
- Rest and Give Yourself Grace
In the chaos of busy schedules, constant notifications and never-ending to-do lists, finding moments of calm can feel like a luxury.
Yet the Word of God is clear about rest. Matthew 11:28-30 says, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’
It’s easy to measure progress in shortfalls: mistakes, missed deadlines, priorities that changed. But Matthew 11 shows that progress isn’t weighed in such conditional ways. Rest is important and available to everyone. It’s where you’re invited to begin again, not something you earn once you’ve caught up. So, make space for small moments that bring you peace — a short break during a busy day, or one day each week set aside for quiet reflection, prayer, or Bible study to draw strength from God and His promises. Have grace for yourself. Finishing the year strong doesn’t require perfection.
- Connect With Community
Personal growth often begins with individual effort but is rarely achieved in isolation. As Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” A dependable support system can make the difference during seasons of uncertainty.
Being part of a community is essential for our well-being and reminds us that we were never meant to face life’s challenges alone. The people around you notice growth that you may not see in yourself, and they can help carry what you can’t carry alone.
While in-person relationships are invaluable, online communities can also provide meaningful encouragement, especially for those who have moved, travel frequently, or are still looking for a local church.
For example, the Bible App makes it simple to study Scripture with friends, share what you’re reading, and encourage one another no matter where you are. Personally, I have found this particularly helpful when traveling as it enables me to stay connected and continue growing alongside others, even when I’m away from home.
- Track Your Habits
After working hard toward your goals throughout the year, take a moment to acknowledge your progress. Keeping track of your habits, both spiritual and professional, lets you see how much you’ve grown.
Big changes don’t happen overnight. They come from steady, small steps. Scripture says, ‘Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.’ (Luke 16:10). By tracking your habits and continuously working to improve them, you demonstrate faithful use of the time, energy and resources God has given to you.
Celebrate your small wins! Tracking your habits isn’t about pointing out where you fell short. It’s about noticing your patterns clearly enough to adjust them. It can help motivate you to keep moving forward.
- Guard Your Heart
Your mind is shaped by what you feed it daily, so ‘Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life’, Proverbs 4:23. We often allow comparison to steal our joy and distract us. However, if we consume media and content mindfully, it will protect our peace. Let God’s truth stand out from the noise around you. Just as healthy food nourishes your body, God’s truth nourishes your mind and spirit, enabling you to face challenges with wisdom and a clear perspective.
A reset isn’t about setting new goals. It’s a chance to realign with God’s Word and get back on track. These steps and Scriptures can help you build routines and move through the rest of the year with more confidence.
