President William Ruto commended Kenyan youth, particularly Gen Z, for their pivotal role in the recent anti-Finance Bill protests.
Speaking at State House on Tuesday night, Ruto applauded their efforts in shaping democratic discourse and reaffirmed his promise to maintain dialogue with them.
“I thank you and assure you that the conversation you have begun around pertinent issues of our nation will continue to inform our policy and governance decisions,” Ruto said.
The President emphasised that these discussions should be issue-based, policy-oriented, and free from tribalism.
He also stressed the importance of upholding constitutional values and the rule of law during national conversations.
Ruto condemned the actions of criminals who allegedly hijacked the protests, causing significant losses and challenging law enforcement.
He urged for continued respectful and lawful engagement in national discussions.
