Safaricom Foundation has launched Phase 8 of its Ndoto Zetu initiative, reaffirming its commitment to supporting sustainable, community-led projects in health, education, and economic empowerment across all 47 counties.

Under Phase 8, the Foundation will invest KES 100 million, bringing its total investment in Ndoto Zetu to KES 700 million since the initiative was launched in 2019. Phase 8 continues to support thousands of community projects that address local needs and improve livelihoods.

In this year’s phase, the Foundation will give previous applicants whose proposals were not funded a chance to have their projects reconsidered. The focus will be on identifying past proposals with the potential to deliver significant and lasting impact in their communities.

“With Ndoto Zetu, we are inspired by everyday Kenyans who dare to dream not just for themselves, but for their communities. As we move into the eighth phase, we are giving Kenyans who have long wanted to create positive change in their communities another opportunity to make their dreams a reality. This year, we will consider impactful proposals from previous applicants that have not yet received funding from the Foundation,” said Joseph Ogutu, Chairman, Safaricom Foundation. Since its launch in 2019, the Ndoto Zetu initiative has supported more than 2,300 projects, directly improving the lives of over 7.1 million people across all 47 counties. In Phase 7 alone, 301 projects were approved, benefiting more than 1.9 million Kenyans.

Through Ndoto Zetu, Safaricom Foundation continues to partner with communities to identify and address local challenges, with a focus on initiatives that create sustainable and meaningful impact.
