Grammy Award–winning saxophonist and global smooth jazz icon Kenny G is in Nairobi for the highly anticipated One Night Only Concert taking place this evening, Saturday 27 September 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
With more than 75 million records sold worldwide, Kenny G remains the best-selling instrumentalist of all time, renowned for timeless classics such as “Songbird,” “Forever in Love,” “Silhouette,” and “The Moment.” His debut performance in Kenya has been billed as a landmark in the country’s cultural calendar.
Speaking ahead of the concert, Kenny G expressed his excitement, saying, “I am so excited to finally come to Kenya to perform for the very first time. I cannot believe we have never been here before. My curls are ready, my sax is ready, and we have got a great show lined up with beautiful melodies and great musicianship. Let us make my debut in Kenya a night to remember.”
The concert, sponsored by Stanbic Bank Kenya, underscores the bank’s commitment to investing in the arts and supporting the creative economy. Kenyan artists Coster Ojwang and Kato Change will share the stage, adding soulful Afro-fusion and jazz guitar artistry to the night’s programme.
Lilian Onyach, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Stanbic Bank, said, “We are honoured to welcome Kenny G to Kenya. This concert is a celebration of global excellence in music brought to life by Kenny G, while also shining a spotlight on the future of Kenyan and East African talent in Coster Ojwang and Kato Change. It will truly be a night to remember.”
Kenya’s creative economy is among the country’s fastest-growing sectors, recording a 15 percent expansion in 2024, according to the Economic Survey 2025. The sector ranked second only to accommodation and food services, with live events such as this one playing a key role in driving growth, job creation, and cultural exchange.
The choice of KICC as the venue highlights its status as one of Africa’s leading event destinations. With its commanding presence on Nairobi’s skyline and track record of hosting international cultural and business gatherings, the KICC provides a fitting backdrop for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of world-class jazz.
Tickets for the concert sold out well in advance, reflecting the overwhelming demand for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
