Kenyan R&B star Tanasha Donna Oketch and American singer Olivia Longott, famously known as “The First Lady,” have earned Grammy consideration for their latest collaboration, Poison. The song has been listed under two major categories: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Record of the Year for the upcoming 68th Grammy Awards.

The track, produced by Moh Denebi, blends African rhythms with smooth R&B elements, showcasing a cross-cultural partnership that is already generating buzz across continents. Teasers of the yet-to-be-released music video have sparked excitement on social media, particularly among fans in Kenya and the United States.

Olivia Longott, a former member of the G-Unit musical family and a cast member of VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop: New York, is known for her long-standing presence in the global music scene. Her career dates back to the early 2000s, including a cameo in the tenth-anniversary season of the reality show and a role in 50 Cent’s 2005 video game Bulletproof.

Nearly two decades later, Olivia’s return with Poison marks a fresh chapter in her career, teaming up with Tanasha Donna—Kenya’s own R&B and Afropop sensation known for fusing African sounds with global influences.

“This recognition by the Grammy Academy is a huge win not just for us, but for the fans and the cultures we represent,” the duo said.
