As the countdown begins for the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event scheduled for today, Wednesday, January 17, enthusiasts are gearing up for the revelation of the much-anticipated and teased Galaxy device series. Samsung’s teasers suggest a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), with a potential major showcase of generative AI for smartphones.

The global Unpacked event is expected to take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, while locally, the launch is set to happen at the Broadwalk conference hall, 4th floor on Ojijo Road, from 7 pm. For those unable to attend, a livestream of the keynote and showcase will commence at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm GMT, equivalent to 9:00 pm Kenyan time.

In November last year, Samsung unveiled Galaxy AI, a comprehensive mobile AI experience that integrates on-device AI developed by Samsung and cloud-based AI through collaborations with industry leaders. The company emphasized that Galaxy AI aims to enhance everyday mobile experiences while prioritizing Galaxy-level security and privacy.

Despite limited details beyond leaks, Samsung promises that Galaxy AI will drive features related to communication, productivity, and creativity on the new Galaxy devices set to debut during the event.
