AAR Hospital has issued a statement addressing widespread social media claims that it denied emergency medical care to renowned Kenyan musician, Betty Bayo, who recently passed away.

In its November 13, 2025, statement, the hospital expressed its condolences to Bayo’s family, friends, and fans, describing her passing as deeply regrettable. “The Management and Staff of AAR Hospital deeply regret her passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans during this difficult time. We share in their sorrow and respectfully honor her memory,” the statement read in part.

The hospital acknowledged that there had been numerous reports circulating online regarding the circumstances surrounding her treatment, but emphasised that many of these claims were “inaccurate and misleading.”

Clarifying the events, AAR Hospital stated that the late musician was admitted to the facility for two days, during which she received emergency and critical care, and her diagnosis was confirmed. “After her initial stabilisation and medical assessment, the patient and her family later opted to transfer her to another medical facility for further specialised treatment,” the hospital added.

Citing medical ethics and patient confidentiality, AAR Hospital declined to disclose specific personal or clinical details but assured the public of its unwavering commitment to professionalism and quality healthcare.

“We assure the public that AAR Hospital remains committed to the highest standards of patient care, professionalism, and transparency,” the statement said.
