Mr. Dismus Mukua secured victory as the overall winner at this year’s Kenya Air Force Golf Club Championship (KAFGC) final held at the Moi Air Base in Eastleigh, Nairobi. 

Mukua demonstrated masterful skill to outshine defending champion Major Don Torerei, as well as Fredrick Wagura and Patrick Kinywa, the second and third runners-up, respectively.

The highly competitive championship, sponsored by Vivo Energy Kenya kicked off seven months ago and attracted participants from various clubs, notably Thika Barracks, Kisii Golf Club and Ruiru Sports Club.

“Our collaboration with the Kenya Air Force Golf Club reflects our vision of creating sustainable impact within the communities we serve. By sponsoring this tournament, we aim to deepen our connection with our customers while supporting the growth of talent across all levels of the game,” said Mark Senteu, Commercial Manager Vivo Energy Kenya at the championship’s award ceremony.

The Chairman of Kenya Air Force Golf Club, Col. Evans Oduma, applauded Vivo Energy Kenya for being a consistent partner for the last 3 years. 

“We appreciate Vivo Energy Kenya for partnering with us for the last three years and we look forward to continue working together in the future,” said Oduma.

Dr. Ayub Shitesewa was crowned the winner in the Guest category, beating Martin Kiambi from Ruiru Sports Club and Joel Muchanga from Thika Barracks.  Anita Nyaguto was feted as the Junior winner with Brigadier Wesonga as the Senior champion.

The lady’s champion winner was Captain Joy Njangi, while the men’s winner was Major Wafula Bwire and Harun Wanyama, emerging as the gross winner.

Vivo Energy Kenya, the company that sells and markets Shell products in Kenya, has been partnering with the Kenya Air Force Golf Club to support the prestigious golf tournament over the past three years and has contributed steadily to grow the championship to become a competitive platform for nurturing and developing talent.
