The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has launched a new digital platform designed to streamline and secure the verification of academic certificates.

The app-based system, unveiled at Mitihani House, is currently undergoing pilot implementation in partnership with the Public Service Commission (PSC). It is expected to drastically reduce the time and complexity involved in authenticating academic qualifications.

Speaking during the launch, Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr. Julius Bitok hailed the innovation as a major step towards curbing academic fraud.

“With this platform, we are saying goodbye to the era of forged certificates. Verification is now fast, secure, and accessible,” said Dr. Bitok.

The new system is expected to benefit employers, academic institutions, and government agencies seeking to confirm the authenticity of credentials, while promoting integrity and transparency in academic and professional spaces.
