Liquid Intelligent Technologies (Liquid), a business of Cassava Technologies, has strengthened its support for Rwanda’s efforts to safeguard the memory of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi with a US$100,000 donation to the Imbuto Foundation.

The contribution, now in its fourth consecutive year, underscores the company’s long-term commitment to preserving the nation’s historical records through technology. Liquid is currently executing a US$1 million, ten-year pledge in partnership with the Imbuto Foundation and the Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement.

The funding is directed towards national-level genocide memorials, helping to maintain technology infrastructure that preserves evidence, artifacts, and documentation. These resources are essential for research, education, and enabling both Rwandans and visitors to engage with an authentic record of the country’s past.

“Protecting the memory of the genocide against the Tutsi is essential to our nation’s collective healing and resilience. At Liquid Intelligent Technologies, we are committed to supporting the Government of Rwanda in strengthening memorial infrastructure and ensuring that historical records are preserved using technology and innovation. Beyond our role in building Africa’s digital future, we take pride in partnering with communities in ways that safeguard their heritage and strengthen their identity,” said Mr Sam Nkusi, Executive Chairman of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Rwanda.

The Imbuto Foundation, founded by Rwanda’s First Lady, Her Excellency Mrs Jeannette Kagame, has been central to initiatives that preserve national memory while supporting unity and reconciliation.

In addition to its memorialisation work, Liquid is also advancing Rwanda’s digital inclusion agenda by providing free public internet access at various locations across the country. This initiative ensures that students, entrepreneurs, and the wider public not only gain reliable access to Rwanda’s historical lessons but also benefit from opportunities in an increasingly digital future.
