Naivas Supermarkets, Kenya’s largest homegrown retail chain, marked Father’s Day with a nationwide customer appreciation activation that saw senior company leaders engage directly with shoppers across the country as part of the retailer’s ongoing Kikapu Kibonge campaign.
The initiative was rolled out simultaneously across more than 110 Naivas stores located in over 38 counties, with fathers shopping at the outlets receiving tokens of appreciation, special recognition, and personal interactions with members of the company’s senior leadership team.
In a rare show of executive engagement, Naivas Group Chief Executive Officer Andreas von Paleske led one of two leadership teams deployed across the country. The teams visited various stores to personally thank fathers and celebrate their contribution to families and communities.
“Fatherhood carries a quiet, daily weight that rarely gets celebrated out loud,” said von Paleske. “Kikapu Kibonge has always been Naivas’s promise to size up the Kenyan household’s basket and its lifestyle. Today, we are sizing up that same promise to honour the men who carry their households on their shoulders, every single day, in every corner of this country.”
The Father’s Day activation forms part of the broader Kikapu Kibonge campaign, Naivas’s long running commitment to delivering greater value, affordability, and an enhanced shopping experience to Kenyan households. While the campaign is primarily associated with customer value, the Father’s Day initiative sought to translate that promise into a more personal expression of appreciation.
According to the retailer, the engagement was designed to reflect the company’s founding values of customer centricity, community partnership, and integrity. By placing senior leaders directly on the shop floor, Naivas aimed to demonstrate a hands on approach to customer engagement and appreciation.
“This was built to be felt by fathers in every region we serve, from our stores in Nairobi to our stores on the Coast, in the Rift Valley, in Western Kenya, and beyond. Wherever there is a Naivas, there was appreciation for fathers today,” the company said.
Naivas noted that the activation was intentionally implemented on a national scale, ensuring that fathers across different regions experienced the same level of recognition rather than limiting celebrations to a single flagship location.
As Kenya’s largest indigenous supermarket chain, Naivas continues to position Kikapu Kibonge as a year round value proposition that extends beyond competitive pricing to supporting the broader lifestyle needs of Kenyan consumers.
The Father’s Day celebration is the latest expression of that philosophy, reinforcing the retailer’s commitment to building meaningful connections with customers while recognising the everyday contributions of fathers across the country.
Naivas also expressed its appreciation to media partners who attended the activation and extended its gratitude to fathers nationwide for their dedication, resilience, and unwavering support of their families and communities.
