OPPO to bring Generative AI Features to about 50 Million This Year

OPPO will collaborate with Google, MediaTek, Microsoft, and more partners across the industry to deliver enhanced AI phones experiences.

OPPO has announced it commitment to making AI phones accessible to everyone, aiming to bring generative AI to all product lines and reaching 50 million users by the end of this year. OPPO believes AI should not be exclusive to flagship models but available to more users worldwide.

“OPPO aims to make AI phones accessible to everyone,” said Billy Zhang, President of Overseas MKT, Sales and Service at OPPO. “For the first time in the industry, OPPO is bringing generative AI to all product lines.”

IDC reports a significant market potential, predicting a 250% growth in AI phone shipments in the sub-$1000 segment by 2024. OPPO has filed over 5,000 AI patents and pioneered the development of Large Language Models (LLMs). It is the first smartphone company to deploy a 7 billion parameter LLM on the device, with over 100 generative AI capabilities already rolled out.

OPPO collaborates with industry leaders to enhance AI experiences, partnering with Google for innovative AI features, MediaTek for enhanced chip efficiency, and Microsoft for improved voice and text conversion.

OPPO’s AI phones boost productivity with fast transcription and real-time translation while revolutionizing creativity with features like AI Eraser. OPPO envisions a long-term evolution from smartphones to AI phones, transforming the mobile experience with intelligent OS and AI Agents.

Nicole Zhang, General Manager of AI Product at OPPO, said, “We believe in a full-stack transformation and ecosystem restructuring of AI phones.” OPPO is committed to developing optimal AI phone experiences through innovation and collaboration, welcoming the new AI phone era.
