Safaricom has been a big part of the Magical Kenya Ladies Open for four years now, supporting it through its M-PESA platform. This year, they continued their commitment by contributing KES.34.8 million. As part of their dedication to nurturing talent, Safaricom sponsored four promising golfers—Margaret Njoki, Aisha Duba, Vivian Adhiambo, and Ekron Odhiambo—to participate in the Pro-Am tournament. These players, identified by foundations like the Junior Golf Foundation and the Kenya Ladies Golf Union, wouldn’t have been able to join otherwise due to financial constraints.
Aisha Duba, one of the sponsored players, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to play alongside professionals and learn from them, highlighting the invaluable experience gained from the event.
Safaricom also organized a junior golf clinic during the tournament, providing coaching to over 50 young golfers. Peter Ndegwa, Safaricom’s CEO, emphasized the importance of sports sponsorship in transforming the lives of Kenyan youth and reaffirmed Safaricom’s commitment to supporting and nurturing talent.
Through these initiatives, Safaricom not only promotes its brand but also fosters diversity in the tournament and empowers aspiring athletes, cementing its role as a supporter of promising talents in Kenya.
