Samsung Electronics has revealed its bold new vision, “Companion to AI Living,” at The First Look event during CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The showcase highlighted how artificial intelligence (AI) is now at the core of Samsung’s products, services, and user experience — shaping how people live, work, and relax every day.
Speaking at the event, TM Roh, CEO and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division, said Samsung’s strength lies in its vast connected ecosystem.
“Samsung is building a more unified and more personal experience across mobile, displays, home appliances, and services,” Roh said. “By embedding AI across categories, we are creating more meaningful everyday experiences.”
Entertainment Companion: TVs That Do More Than Display Content
Samsung’s Visual Display leaders SW Yong and Sukhmani Mohta showcased how the company is redefining home entertainment with AI-powered displays.
At the center of the lineup is the 130-inch Micro RGB TV, Samsung’s most advanced display yet. It delivers stunning colour accuracy and clarity using millions of microscopic red, green, and blue light sources that operate independently. Its sleek Timeless Frame design keeps distractions to a minimum, allowing viewers to focus entirely on the picture.
Powering this experience is Vision AI Companion (VAC) — Samsung’s AI system that turns the TV into a true home companion. VAC can recommend what to watch, what music to play, and even suggest meals, going far beyond traditional TV viewing.
Smarter Viewing and Sound
- AI Soccer Mode Pro enhances live matches with stadium-level picture and sound.
- AI Sound Controller Pro lets users adjust crowd noise, commentary, or background music using voice commands.
- VAC works across Samsung’s full TV lineup, including Micro LED, OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED, and UHD TVs.
VAC also supports lifestyle features such as identifying meals shown on TV and suggesting recipes that align with users’ health goals. These recommendations can be shared across devices, including kitchen appliances, for a seamless smart-home experience.
New Audio, Projectors, and Gaming Displays
Samsung continues its dominance in audio, having led the global soundbar market for 11 consecutive years. This year, it introduced two new WiFi speakers — Music Studio 5 and 7 — designed by renowned designer Erwan Bouroullec.
Other highlights include:
- The OLED S95H, an ultra-thin TV with an art-gallery-style design
- The Freestyle+, a portable AI-powered projector that works on walls, ceilings, and uneven surfaces
- Support for HDR10+ ADVANCED, offering better brightness, smoother motion, and improved gaming visuals
- Eclipsa Audio, Samsung’s new spatial sound system across all 2026 TVs
Gamers were not left out. Samsung unveiled its most advanced Odyssey gaming monitors, including the world’s first 6K 3D Odyssey G9.
All these devices run on Samsung’s most powerful Tizen OS, now guaranteed to receive seven years of updates.
Home Companion: Smart Appliances That Think Ahead
Samsung also showcased how AI is transforming everyday home chores into stress-free experiences.
Cheolgi Kim, Head of Samsung’s Digital Appliances Division, revealed that SmartThings now has over 430 million users globally, underlining Samsung’s leadership in smart home technology.
AI-Powered Kitchen
The Family Hub refrigerator, upgraded with AI Vision and Google Gemini, can now:
- Recognise food items more accurately
- Track what goes in and out of the fridge
- Suggest meals based on available ingredients
Features like “What’s for Today?”, Video to Recipe, and FoodNote help families plan meals, follow cooking steps, and track food usage more easily.
Smarter Laundry and Cleaning
- Bespoke AI Laundry Combo eliminates the need to transfer clothes between machines
- Bespoke AI AirDresser removes wrinkles using air and steam
- Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robot vacuum detects liquids, monitors pets, and responds to conversational voice commands
These innovations have earned Samsung multiple CES Innovation Awards.
AI That Saves Money and Improves Safety
Samsung also announced a partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), allowing homeowners to potentially lower insurance premiums by using SmartThings-connected appliances. After a successful U.S. pilot in 2025, the programme is expanding globally.
Care Companion: Moving Toward Preventive Health
Closing the event, Praveen Raja, Head of Digital Health at Samsung Research America, outlined Samsung’s vision for proactive healthcare.
Using AI across phones, wearables, and home devices, Samsung aims to:
- Offer personalised exercise and sleep coaching
- Detect early signs of health issues
- Share health data securely with medical professionals via the Xealth platform
Samsung is also advancing research in early dementia detection, using wearables to identify subtle changes in movement, speech, and engagement.
All data across this ecosystem is protected by Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix, ensuring user privacy and security as AI continues to evolve.
