Spotify listeners have already created nearly 9 billion playlists to soundtrack everyday moments. Now, Premium users can take playlist creativity even further with a new feature that allows custom transitions between tracks.

Currently in beta, the tool lets users seamlessly blend songs, adjust how they flow together, and fine-tune details like volume, EQ, and effect curves. Whether you are building the perfect workout mix, a non-stop party playlist, or a road trip soundtrack, you can now create a smooth, professional-sounding listening experience.

Getting started is simple: open any playlist, select “Mix” from the toolbar, and watch it transform. You can choose instant blends with “Auto” or customise transitions with presets like “Fade” and “Rise.” For more control, explore tempo and key matching, waveform guides, and beat data to perfect your transitions. Once finished, save and share your unique mix, or even collaborate with friends who are also Premium users.

Spotify also offers tips for first-time mixers, from starting with dance genres that blend easily to matching BPMs for workouts, and even adding custom cover art for mixed playlists.

This feature is rolling out to eligible Premium users worldwide. To try it, make sure your Spotify app is updated, then tap “Mix” to start shaping playlists that sound exactly how you want them to.
