Kenya’s fast growing energy drink market has received another boost following the successful conclusion of the nationwide “Jibambe na STEAM” campaign by Kenafric Beverages and Bottling Limited. The consumer promotion, which ran through the festive season into the New Year, rewarded shoppers across the country while strengthening the brand’s position as a favourite among Kenyan consumers.

The campaign officially wrapped up on Valentine’s Day with a celebratory grand finale at Greenspan Mall, where grand prize winners were honoured in a lively award ceremony that highlighted the brand’s growing connection with everyday Kenyans.

A Valentine’s Day Celebration for Lucky Winners

The final event recognised three grand prize winners whose purchases turned into life changing surprises.

Shabir Rashid from Mtwapa walked away with a 55 inch Smart TV, Edwin Reuben Chomba from Nairobi won a powerful subwoofer, and Mohamed Mgandi Ndura from Nyali received a new smartphone.

The winners shared heartfelt reactions during the ceremony.

“I usually see these promotions and never imagine I would be the one winning. When I got the call, I thought it was a joke. My children are very excited about the TV, so this really means a lot to us,” said Rashid.

Chomba described the win as a perfect way to begin the year, while Ndura noted that a new smartphone would make a meaningful difference in his university life.

Beyond the prizes, the ceremony became a celebration of the everyday consumers who have made STEAM part of their routines, celebrations, and busy schedules.

How Kenyans Participated Nationwide

The promotion reached shoppers across major retail outlets including Naivas, Quickmart, Eastmatt, Khetias, Mathai Supermarkets, and Magunas Supermarkets.

Participation followed a simple Buy, Scan and Win format. Consumers purchased the drink, scanned the QR code on the bottle neck tag, and uploaded receipts for weekly prize draws ranging from shopping vouchers to electronics.

Social media also amplified engagement, with Kenyans sharing festive celebrations and relatable January survival stories using the hashtag #JibambeNaSTEAM. The user generated content captured real life moments where energy, resilience, and enjoyment matter most.

Industry Recognition Strengthens Brand Momentum

The campaign builds on a strong year for the brand following major wins at the Kenya Beverage Excellence Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands in November 2025.

At the awards, STEAM was named Most Preferred Energy Drink in Kenya. The newly launched STEAM Recharge secured the Most Preferred New Beverage Concept award, while the Power Up Game On campaign was named First Runner Up for Best Marketing Campaign of the Year. Kenafric Beverages and Bottling Limited also earned Runner Up Manufacturer of the Year, highlighting its commitment to innovation and quality.

These recognitions underscore the brand’s growing popularity and trust among Kenyan consumers.

Three Variants Designed for Real Life Needs

The brand’s appeal is anchored in a combination of taste, premium packaging, and functionality. The range includes:

• STEAM Recharge, designed for replenishment and recovery after demanding schedules or travel
• STEAM Power, created to support physical energy for active lifestyles and long days
• STEAM Original, delivering a reliable boost whenever an extra push is needed

Together, the three variants provide flexible energy solutions suited to different lifestyles and daily routines.

More Than a Drink, A Daily Boost

The “Jibambe na STEAM” promotion demonstrated how the brand continues to energise celebrations, busy routines, and the demanding start of the year. Every bottle represents more than refreshment, offering consumers the boost needed to keep moving forward and make the most of each day.

The campaign was conducted in full compliance with Betting Control and Licensing Board regulations under BCLB Number 0000316.
