Victoria Commercial Bank PLC (VCB) marked five years of partnership with Faraja Cancer Support Trust at this year’s Be Bold Go Gold Cancer Walk, having contributed KES 5.75 million towards Faraja’s work over the course of the relationship.
The Be Bold Go Gold Cancer Walk is Faraja Cancer Support Trust’s annual childhood cancer fundraiser, with proceeds supporting treatment and psychosocial care for children and their families. In 2025, more than 1,800 people and 17 schools took part, helping raise over KES 10 million. The 2026 edition drew support from at least 25 corporate and institutional partners, reflecting the growing breadth of organisations backing Faraja’s childhood cancer work.
Earlier in the month, VCB staff members visited children affected by cancer at Kenyatta National Hospital, where they spent time with patients and caregivers and heard about the realities families face during treatment. The visit gave the Bank an opportunity to connect directly with the people at the centre of Faraja’s work ahead of its participation in this year’s walk.
VCB Chair of the Board, Ketaki Sheth, said: “Five years gives us a chance to look back at how this partnership has grown and, more importantly, at the people it continues to reach. Spending time with the children and their caregivers at Kenyatta National Hospital brought that into sharp focus for our team. Their courage stays with you. We are therefore all the happier to continue supporting Faraja and to stand alongside the families navigating cancer treatment.”
For VCB, this year’s walk adds another chapter to a partnership that has increasingly brought staff into closer contact with the communities the Bank supports.

Their support has helped us continue providing care and assistance, while the involvement of VCB staff has brought an added sense of solidarity to the partnership.”
VCB’s five-year relationship with Faraja now represents KES 5.75 million in support, alongside continued staff participation in activities that bring the bank closer to children and families affected by cancer.
