Being energy efficient and eco-friendly is now at the center of every mindful electronic manufacturer. As the world fast-moves towards embracing green, most appliances in the market today are striving to keep up with the ever-changing and ever-evolving needs and trends.

Among electronic brands that have embraced eco-friendliness and put the betterment of the earth at the centre of everything is Samsung Electronics. From appliances given the EPA’s Most Efficient distinction for meeting the most rigorous standards of energy efficiency to the prestigious Corporate Commitment Award that proves Samsung’s dedication to a greener future, the brand strives to deliver technologies that environmentally conscious consumers can confidently use to save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.

According to the electronic giant, a greener future starts at home, and the brand is committed to ensuring that all its home appliances are eco-conscious to help users conserve energy, cut costs, and build a more sustainable future for families.

“Samsung builds more sustainable appliances to help you shrink your footprint without sacrificing performance,” said Samsung in a statement.

With Kenya’s numerous nationwide blackouts that have often left millions stranded and frustrated, appliances that conserve energy and still retain some in the face of a blackout are something every family will strive and hope to have. Kenya’s blackouts have resulted in a significant drop in Kenya’s electricity supply reliability, as seen in the country’s System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI), a measure of the average number of interruptions that a customer experiences.

There is no doubt that environmentally friendly appliances, or energy-efficient appliances, focus on reducing energy consumption and environmental impact through innovative technologies and sustainable practices. They promote a sustainable lifestyle by conserving energy, reducing emissions, and minimising resource depletion. These appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, and air conditioners, champion energy efficiency and sustainability.

Energy-efficient refrigerators play a crucial role in reducing electricity consumption through advanced insulation, compressor technology, and optimised temperature control. For instance, Samsung Family Hub refrigerators are a top choice for eco-conscious consumers looking to store food with a reduced carbon footprint. Equipped with a Digital Inverter Compressor, these refrigerators adjust their speed based on cooling demand, minimising energy wastage and lowering power consumption. By incorporating advanced technology and intelligent connectivity, Samsung offers a sustainable and convenient solution for households looking to reduce electricity consumption and save on utility bills.

According to GreenMatch, Eco-friendly appliances such as those from Samsung use less energy and water than traditional models, often backed by certifications such as ENERGY STAR. These appliances are designed with the environment in mind, featuring sustainable materials, energy-saving technologies, and recyclable components. They invest in our planet’s future, reducing greenhouse emissions and conserving natural resources. Avoiding standby mode can also lead to savings, as appliances left on standby can cost households a lot of money annually.

Additionally, the timing and manner of appliance usage can impact energy consumption, with appliances like dishwashers and washing machines accounting for about 10% of a household’s energy bills.
