Majid Al Futtaim, which owns the exclusive rights to operate Carrefour in Kenya, has opened a new Carrefour Thome along the Northern Bypass in Marurui, bringing the total number of stores in the country to 36.
Spanning more than 1,600 square metres, the store stocks approximately 13,000 products, including fresh produce, groceries, household essentials, health and beauty products, and Carrefour private-label items. It also features self-checkout counters for a faster, more convenient shopping experience.
The opening has created 33 direct jobs for Kenyans, adding to Carrefour Kenya’s workforce of more than 3,000 colleagues. The store will also expand market access for products sourced from local suppliers and SMEs through Carrefour’s retail network.
This milestone is a testament to Carrefour’s continued growth in Kenya and reinforces Majid Al Futtaim’s commitment to making quality retail across the country more accessible.
