DIB Bank Kenya, a subsidiary of Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC (AE), is set to strengthen its operations in Kenya as it seeks to double its support for Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and regional trade between Kenya and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Bank made the commitment during the official opening of the Sarit Branch. The branch was previously at Goodman Towers, off Waiyaki Way. The strategic move to a more centralised location, Sarit, will enable DIB Bank to better serve the customers, within one of Kenya’s busiest malls.

DIB Bank Kenya Board Member Dr. Steve Mainda expressed confidence in the Bank and its role in enhancing trade relations between Kenya and UAE.

“With our Group office based in UAE, we are strategically positioned to facilitate trade between Kenya and the UAE. Our objective is to continue fostering investment and consumption drivers that accelerate local economic growth, encourage regional trade, and enhance economic cooperation. We will continue to provide innovative financial solutions tailored to the unique requirements of businesses operating between Kenya and the UAE,” Dr. Mainda said.

While officiating the relocation of the branch, The Charge dáffaires, Embassy of the UAE to Kenya, Dr Khalifa AlRayssi, reaffirmed UAE’s commitments to Kenya. He emphasized that UAE remains focused on strengthening bilateral trade with Kenya.

“The investment, business, and financial relationship between Kenya and the UAE hold immense promise for both nations. Through the strong partnership, these countries have leveraged their unique strengths to drive economic growth, create employment opportunities, and promote prosperity,” Dr Khalifa AlRayssi said.

“The financial sector plays a vital role in facilitating business and investment between Kenya and the UAE. Both countries have established robust banking systems, providing a solid foundation for cross-border financial transactions. The presence of the UAE banks in Kenya has enhanced access to financial services and fostered greater economic integration between the two nations.”

The relocation of the branch is part of DIB’s ongoing commitment to providing conducive banking services by improving accessibility and convenience for its customers. The Sarit location provides customers with easy access to banking services in a bustling and fitting environment.

“The relocation of this branch to a more convenient location heralds our commitment to growing our presence in Kenya and supporting the country’s economic growth. The Bank has seen growth prospects, and the new branch will help us meet the growing demand for Shariah-compliant products and services,” DIB Bank Kenya MD/Acting CEO Ms. Kagucia said.

The branch offers its valued customers enhanced services and a more convenient banking experience and will address the growing demand for Shariah Compliant products and services by availing a wide range of Sharia-compliant financial solutions and personalized services to the public.

“We are delighted to relocate to Sarit which reinforces our commitment to serving our customers. This highlights our ongoing efforts to enhance customer experience and expand our network across strategic locations. By placing our branch in a high-traffic area, we are confident that we will be able to serve our existing and potential customers better and continue to strengthen our presence in the market,” Ms. Kagucia added.

“Shariah Banking is fast gaining popularity in the country and this branch will serve as an information hub for customers coming to Sarit. We are excited about this strategic move and are committed to providing innovative financial solutions, exceptional customer service, and a seamless banking experience. We look forward to welcoming our esteemed customers to our new branch at Sarit and invite them to experience the future of banking,” Ms. Kagucia noted.
