NCBA has announced a Ksh 300,000 sponsorship to support Kenyan swimmers for the South Africa National Masters Swimming Championship to be held in George, South Africa in March 2026.

The sponsorship will help cover essential needs, including team kit and key travel logistics, ensuring the team is properly equipped and ready to compete in the upcoming competition.

The partnership was announced during a joint training session, held on Friday, 30 January 2026 at Crawford International School, where the swimmers focused on refining technique, building endurance, and strengthening team cohesion ahead of the continental championships.

Kenya Aquatics Technical Director Omar Omari praised the sponsorship, saying Masters swimming in Kenya has been steadily growing thanks to committed stakeholders and athletes who have kept the sport active and visible. We are grateful to NCBA for stepping in at a key moment, and we call for more corporate partners to support swimming, as it aligns with disciplined, goal-driven communities.”
Kenya Masters Team Captain Peter Nduati expressed his appreciation describing the support as a major lift for the athletes at a crucial stage of preparation. “The funding will go a long way in ensuring the team is properly equipped and ready to compete with confidence.” He further appreciated Kenya Aquatics for standing with the Masters’ community and providing the backing needed to keep the sport growing.

According to Nelly Wainaina, NCBA Group Director Marketing, Communication & Citizenship “The decision to support the swimmers aligns with the bank’s corporate social responsibility focus to promote wellness, healthy living, and community development. Masters swimming is a powerful example of sport as a lifelong lifestyle, where athletes continue to push themselves, stay fit, and inspire younger generations long after their competitive youth years.”

This marks the second consecutive year NCBA has supported Kenyan Masters swimmers. Last season, NCBA sponsored swimmers who represented the country at the World Aquatics Masters Swimming Championship in Singapore, further strengthening their support for initiatives that contribute to healthier societies.
