The Nyota Project has begun the final phase of its Business Support component classroom training, rolling out sessions from Wednesday, 26 November 2025 to Saturday, 29 November 2025, across constituency headquarters in 17 counties spanning Central Kenya, Nairobi, the North Eastern region and the Coast. The participating counties are Garissa, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kwale, Lamu, Mandera, Marsabit, Mombasa, Murang’a, Nairobi City, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Samburu, Taita Taveta, Tana River and Wajir.

This phase raises the total number of counties that have undergone the Nyota Project business support programme to 46. Training in Elgeyo Marakwet, which was disrupted by the recent landslides, will be rescheduled.

A total of 42,735 trainees have been invited for classroom sessions across 510 wards, in line with the requirement of 70 participants per ward. Beneficiaries have already been contacted and must attend at least three of the four training days in their selected constituencies to qualify for the business grant.

All constituency training centres are fully prepared for the sessions running through 29 November, with disbursement of start up capital set to follow the completion of the training.

Last week, similar sessions were conducted in 25 counties including Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Turkana, Baringo, Laikipia, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Isiolo, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Nandi, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho and Bomet. These brought together participants from 151 constituencies and 754 wards.

The Nyota Project aims to empower more than 100,000 vulnerable youth across all 1,450 wards in Kenya, supporting at least 70 beneficiaries in each ward. After the classroom training, all participants will receive two months of mentorship from business development experts and local entrepreneurs to help them integrate into their respective business ecosystems.
