Big Win

Safaricom M-PESA’s sponsorship of Adrien Fourmaux, amounting to KES 20 million, enabled the French driver to prominently display M-PESA branding on his Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1, further amplifying the company’s presence at the Safari Rally and throughout the season.

Adrien clinched a remarkable podium finish. Navigated by Alexandre Coria in M-Sport’s Ford Puma, Fourmaux showcased exceptional driving prowess, clocking a time of 3:38:29.1 to secure third place in the rally.

“I am happy to have finished and made it to the podium. This is a significant improvement from my last Safari Rally performance,” said Fourmaux, expressing his gratitude to fans and sponsors, including M-PESA.

World Rally Champion Kalle Rovanpera, driving a Toyota Yaris, claimed the top position with a time of 3:36:04.0. Rovanpera’s victory marked his second win at the WRC Safari Rally, having also triumphed in 2022. Katsuta Takamoto, also driving a Toyota Yaris, secured second place at 3:37:41.8.

Kenyan driver Carl “Flash” Tundo, guided by Jessop Tim, led the local contingent, finishing 7th in the WRC2 category and securing the 16th position overall. Notably, Hamza Anwar, sponsored by Safaricom, displayed resilience and sportsmanship to claim the top position in the WRC3 category, securing the 22nd position overall.
