Ongenge currently serves as Head of Personal and Private Banking at Stanbic Bank Kenya, a role he has held since November 2023. The bank said his appointment reflects a long and successful career within the Standard Bank Group, where he has built extensive leadership and financial management experience across multiple markets.

Ongenge has also served as Finance Director in a local bank, further strengthening his leadership credentials in the financial sector.

Academically, Ongenge holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi, where he graduated with First Class Honours. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Kenya and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He also holds the Certified Public Accountant designation in Uganda.
