Pope Leo XIV has called on Catholic men to show compassion and closeness to others, especially the poor and most vulnerable, as a reflection of their faith.
In a message marking the Catholic Men’s Conference Day on 17 October, the Pope encouraged men to renew their desire to bring the love of Jesus to their families, parishes, and wider communities. He urged them to do so through “concrete gestures of closeness, compassion and respect for others.”
The message, sent by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, conveyed the Pope’s “good wishes” to all those taking part in Catholic Men’s Conferences across North America.
Pope Leo said he hopes the annual gatherings will strengthen men in their faith and deepen their relationship with the Lord. He highlighted Saint Joseph as a model for Catholic men, describing him as “the just man” who found happiness in giving of himself joyfully and generously.
He also entrusted all participants to the intercession of the Virgin Mary and imparted his Apostolic Blessing.
The Catholic Men’s Conference is a day-long event featuring Mass, confession, adoration, and talks by Catholic speakers. Held every year on 17 October, it takes place in various locations across North America, encouraging men to strengthen their faith and serve their families and communities.
