Safaricom continues to take its Home Internet services closer to customers, giving Nairobi residents an opportunity to interact directly with its teams, share their experiences and get support on their connectivity needs.
As part of these ongoing engagements, residents of Avenue Park Phase 1, Embakasi, recently had the opportunity to take their Home Internet questions directly to Safaricom experts during an experiential Home Internet Clinic.
The clinics are part of Safaricom’s wider customer outreach efforts, which seek to bring its teams closer to communities across the country, listen to customers and help them get more value from the services they use. Through the engagements, customers can raise connectivity concerns, get guidance from technical teams and explore Home Internet solutions suited to their households.
Speaking during the clinic, Hakim Ali from Safaricom’s Home Segments team said the community engagements provide an important platform for the company to listen to customers and respond directly to their needs.
“Avenue Park is about 70 per cent connected by Safaricom, and we have customers here who are fully supported by us. These clinics are important because they bridge the gap between Safaricom and our customers. We are here to serve them, make sure they feel heard and seen, as well as address their challenges. We have brought along a team of experts and technicians who can respond to their concerns firsthand,” he said.
For residents, the clinic also offered an opportunity to learn about solutions that can support their increasingly connected lifestyles.
“I have been using Safaricom Home Fibre for about one and a half years, and the experience has been great. I can connect several devices at home and still enjoy good speeds. What caught my attention today is the portable router. I am always on the move, and having internet with me when I travel without having to keep buying bundles would be very useful,” said Paul Wanyoke, an Avenue Park resident.
The engagement comes at a time when demand for reliable, high-speed connectivity continues to grow as more households depend on the internet for work, education, entertainment, communication and other everyday activities.
According to Safaricom’s FY25/26 results, its fixed connectivity business recorded strong growth, with Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) customers increasing by 35.0 per cent year-on-year to 407,080. Homes passed also increased by 16.2 per cent year-on-year to 807,020, driven by expanded fibre coverage and growing demand for high-speed internet.
Safaricom has also increased Home Fibre speeds by up to 2.5 times across its plans at no additional cost to customers. The enhanced speeds are available across its Home Fibre plans, giving customers greater value and enabling them to connect more devices and enjoy a seamless online experience at home.
The Home Internet clinic forms part of Safaricom’s continued efforts to take its services closer to customers, strengthen direct engagement with communities and ensure customers have access to the support and connectivity solutions they need.
As Kenya’s digital economy continues to grow and households become increasingly dependent on reliable internet connectivity, Safaricom remains focused on expanding its fixed connectivity network while enhancing the customer experience through accessible, reliable and high-speed Home Internet solutions.
